Races

Aldrin

Aldrin is an old Earth colony, lost during the Terraformer war that cut Earth off from the gate network. Their isolation and the nature of their star system have bred some impressive capabilities into some of their technologies, such as propulsion, but in other respects such as armaments, they lag behind the Commonwealth.

Argon

A Commonwealth Race.
The Argon people are believed to be descended from the Earth people many years ago. A long time ago the AP Sorja 44 (AP Gunner) was in a battle with the Xenon's near earth. The captain of the AP Sorja 44 lured a large group of Xenon's away from earth, through an unknown jump gate. The captain then ordered the destruction of the Jumpgate trapping them and the Xenon's on this side of the galaxy. Shortly after the pursuing Xenon ships shot down the AP Gunner somewhere in the known X universe. Ever since the Argon's have been battling the Xenon's.

20 or so years ago a ship believed to be from Earth jumped across the galaxy without the use of a Jumpgate into the X universe. However, his jumpdrive was destroyed. This left the pilot of the ship alone, in a faraway galaxy with no hope of returning home to earth. Many Argon's don't believe this ship was from earth. The pilot helped to land a major blow to the Xenon's in one battle.

Shortly after this, the pilot formed Tera-corp to fund his research on returning home to earth.

Argon ships very reversible but not being good or bad at anything.

Boron

A Commonwealth Race.
The Boron are a friendly species that live primarily under the sea. Boron ships must be able to travel under the seas and also into space where awaiting factories supply them with resources. The Boron normally considers anyone to be a friend, only fighting if they really have to.

Tera-Corp and the Boron's are working on drives to enable other races to travel in Boron seas like Boron ships.

Paranid

A Commonwealth Race.
The correctly called Paranid, are simply paranoid of everyone. In order to even speak to a Paranid, pilots have to show goodwill and prove they can be trusted.

Paranid's are known for their advanced technology however the same can't be said about their hospitality. They see most other races to be inferior, especially humans.

Paranid ships are fast, powerful, and deadly.

Sohnen

Little is known about the Sohnen, an old spacefaring race that has little to do with Commonwealth affairs.

Split

A Commonwealth Race.
The Split is a warrior race who would rather fight than die a cowardly death. This makes the Split people very weary of anyone new in their space. To be allowed to dock you will need to show the Split some goodwill by shooting down some enemy ships. Split ships are often fast and powerful in order to attack their pray, however, Split ships often have lower amounts of shielding.

Teladi

A Commonwealth Race.
The Teladi are relatively friendly to other races. Teladi are very well known for doing anything which makes them profit. Most Teladi's live to make a profit. Thier snake-like voices can put many pilots on edge which is a good thing as they often can't be trusted.

Teladi ships normally have a bigger cargo bay so they can make more profit. Teladi will often guard their cargo and ships with their lives.

Terran

Terrans are the humans left behind on Earth after Gunne separated them from the X-universe. They have, over time, rebuilt their civilization in the Solar System and have advanced technology. The reconnection of the Solar System to the gate network has reintroduced them to X-Universe. They are highly xenophobic and do not share technology with the rest of the X-Universe, leaving their economy somewhat isolated.

Xenon

The Xenon are a product of man's creation which turned on them. Xenon's were used to convert a planet into a livable place for humans to live on. However, after many years, the Xenon developed a problem in their programming and started to turn on their human masters. One captain managed to draw them away from Earth in his ship named 'AP-Sorja 44' aka AP Gunner. The captain managed to lure the Xenon's into an unknown Jumpgate and blew it up just after they arrived. This was the only Jumpgate back to Earth, trapping both himself and the Xenon's in the X part of the galaxy.

The captain of the AP Gunner had to crash land and was never found. It is believed that the Argon people are descended from the Earth people. Much of this story has been forgotten over the years.

After the last Xenon war, the Argon nearly lost their homeland, however, since then the Argons have been fighting back winning countless battles against the Xenon. The biggest blow to the Xenon was the loss of the Xenon mothership in Brennan's Triumph.

Xenon ships are still deadly to this day and are constantly researching ways to upgrade ships and weapons. The Xenon's are planning to one day attack the Argon again.

Factions

ATF

The AGI Task Force is a security faction for the Terrans, tasked with protecting Earth against threats posed by Artificial General Intelligence.

Community Of Planets

A blanket term describing the 5 primary races in the gate network: Argon, Boron, Paranid, Split and Teladi. Also known as the Commonwealth.

Foundation Guild

A formal alliance between the Argon and the Boron, during the first Xenon conflict. The Split and Paranid refused to join the foundation guild and instead opted to join the Teladi in their Profit guild. While relations with other races outside the Foundation Guild remain tense yet somewhat cordial, each has a common enemy known as the Xenon.

Goner

A sect of religious citizens from the early colonists of Argon Prime who were first known as “Gunners”, namely after their leader at the time Nathan R. Gunne who explored the universe for a way back home to Earth. Over the many centuries, details were obscured and Earth was pretty much forgotten, what remained of Earth became known as the “Truth”, the origin of the Argons. Another thing obscured over time was their name, as the “Gunners” morphed into Goners.

Pirates

The Pirates are people who don't want to conform to the 'standard' way of life. The Pirates believe that their ships were created by the Teladi as they have a very similar design.

Pirate ships are always armed and will attack anyone they don't like. Pirates will often attack other ships just for cargo. The Pirates would rather lose a bit of cargo space so they can carry some extra guns.

Profit Guild

Formed initially during the first Xenon conflict mainly because the Paranid refused to share their technology with the Boron and Argon. Seeing the Split as the only race even remotely worthy as an ally, the Paranid chose to form an alliance with the Split. Because the Split and Paranid believe their own race is superior, they are quite comfortable not sharing technology with each other, and together form a formidable, yet awkward relationship. The Teladi, knowing conflict brings profit saw fit to join the rightly so-named Profit guild as well, for no other reason than profits.

Yaki

The ruthless Yaki pirates have taken advantage of the weakened Argon Fleet to carry out raids on Argon facilities and many other sectors in the universe. They set up shop near Paranid space, with their core world being Weavers Tempest, and their shipyard in Senators Badlands. The Yaki are known to be the most deadly pirates who have sold out their own mothers for less than a nickel.

Corporations

Corporations are a recent development in the power structure of the Commonwealth. Focused primarily on business operations, Corporations represent a significant force. The following corporations maintain their own headquarters stations.

Atreus

Headquartered in Queens Harbour, Atreus Shipbuilding Currents specializes in automated spacecraft.

Duke's

Headquartered in an Unknown Sector (10,16), Duke's Buccanneers are a 'private security corporation'.

Jonferco

Jonferson Space Dynamics Division, headquartered in Belt of Aguilar, specializes in engineering and installation design.

NMMC

The Nividium Mining and Manufacturing Corporation hunts for Nividium and the attendant profits from their headquarters in PTNI Headquarters.

OTAS

From their headquarters in Legends Home, Optimised Technology, Armaments, and Shielding Corporation designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft.

Plutarch

The Plutarch Mining Corporation exploits the best business deals. Their former home was the Ore Belt, but as of 'Albion Prelude', Plutarch has moved their headquarters to operations to the Albion systems.

Strong Arms

Split Strong Arms focuses on running its arms business from Thyns Excavation.

Terracorp

Terracorp, a private security and R&D firm, is a diverse and influential player in X-Universe politics, maintaining a headquarters in Home of Light.
