+Almost every situation draws me back to the default configuration. As a beginner, if you are mostly interested in trading and defending yourself - this is the best layout for you in my opinion.
+After a few rounds, I prefer to play with a gamepad, at least for the flight controls. Its a lot easier in combat with the joypad I find than the keyboard keys. I've taken down a lot of pirate ships and enemies using this combination.
